High winds spread flames onto Fairborn home

UPDATE @ 3 p.m.

The high winds today caused flames on the rear deck to spread into the home, according to a fire official.

No one was hurt, but a resident was home when a small fire started on the deck.

The cause has not been determined.

The fire grew with gusts of wind and damaged part of the home.

A damage estimate was not available and it was not immediately clear whether the family would be able to stay there.

Crews were dispatched shortly after 2 p.m. and a crew from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base provided mutual aid.

Crews in Fairborn battled a house fire in the 1500 block of Graceland Drive.

Black smoke could be seen billowing into the air from the brick home.
