Child’s condition improves after struck by car

The girl has been upgraded to fair condition, according to the hospital.

UPDATE @6:13 p.m.

The 11-year-old girl struck by a car while riding her bike is in critical condition.

She is a student at Newton Elementary in Pleasant Hill and today was the last day of school.

Miami County deputies have not yet determined who was at fault in the accident.

The Sheriff’s Office’s Reconstruction Team is on the scene.

UPDATE @5:12 p.m.: The child struck by a car while riding a bicycle is an 11-year-old girl. She is being transported to a hospital by CareFlight.

No word yet on her current condition.

FIRST REPORT

A child riding a bicycle was struck by a car in the 500 block of North Main Street and CareFlight has been called.

Emergency medics and police were dispatched about 4:45 p.m.
