MIDDLETOWN — A 15-year-old Middletown High School student was charged with felonious assault and booked into the Juvenile Detention Center after he allegedly beat up another 15-year-old student Monday morning in the school.
A video showed a student, after being tapped on his arm by another student, swinging his fist, hitting the student several times in the stomach and head, according to a Middletown police report.
One of the punches to the face made the student “unsteady” on his feet, the report said. That’s when the attacker pushed the student into a brick wall, where he hit his head.
The attacker then hit the student twice in the face, according to the report.
The injured student was taken to the nurse’s office because he was having difficulty seeing. His pupils were not dilated and he was conscious, according to the report, but he was bleeding from his nose and ears.
The attacker told school officials that he “got sick” of being picked on throughout the day, the report said.

— A member of the International Committee of the Red Cross said that in the past three years, 21 staff members have resigned or were fired for “paying for sexual services,” CNN reported.
Two other staff members suspected of sexual misconduct also did not have their contracts renewed, according to Yves Daccord, director general of the ICRC.
"This behavior is a betrayal of the people and the communities we are there to serve. It is against human dignity and we should have been more vigilant in preventing this," Daccord said.
Daccord said staffers are required to adhere to the ICRC’s code of conduct, which bans paying for sexual services. The organization has more than 1,700 staff members worldwide, CNN reported.
