Miamisburg considers dropping ban on animal trapping

Miamisburg is seeking to address a problem with stray cats, including dropping its ban on trapping animals.

Complaints about stray cats are prompting Miamisburg to consider “a full re-write” of its animal ordinance, documents show.

Among the proposed changes:

• Rescinding its ban on trapping animals in the city, but require any trapping to be done with "humane" devices;
• Modifying the definition of owner;
• Banning "reckless" outdoor feeding.

Miamisburg City Council is scheduled to consider the issue Tuesday night.
