Man tries to punch officer at Dayton RTA hub

Dayton police were threatened by an angry trespasser at the RTA hub at 4 Main St. Wednesday morning.

Dwayne D. Coleman, 35, was reportedly loitering in the area for two days and tried to assault locals on the platform, according to a police report.

Police attempted to get Coleman to stop to speak with him, but he verbally threatened the officers and attempted to reach for his waist, according to police records.

Disregarding commands, he continued to flee prior to turning around and throwing a punch at the officer.

He would whiff and be detained. He was charged with aggravated menacing and criminal trespassing.

Coleman was banned from the property just over two months ago and is charged a second time with these offenses.
