Woman found shot inside Dayton apartment; man jailed

UPDATE @ 11:56 a.m. 

An arrest was made in the shooting of a 28-year-old woman.

Cory Bingamon, 21, is in Montgomery County Jail on felonious assault.

EARLIER REPORT

Dayton police are investigating after a woman was on shot inside an apartment on White Oak Drive Thursday morning.

Police and medics were dispatched to the apartment complex in the 3200 block of White Oak Drive around 4:10 a.m. on reports of a woman shot in the chest.

Police said the woman suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Police scanner traffic indicates there are mixed reports if the shooting was intentional or accidental.

One person was detained at the scene, but was not placed under arrest.
