Woman hospitalized after crashing into utility pole

A woman is at Grandview hospital after she crashed her car into a pole in Englewood, according to dispatchers.

Dispatchers said they received a report of a car into a pole in the 600 block of South Main Street around 6:08 a.m. Saturday morning

The woman hit the pole which caused it to crack and fall leaving power lines down while closing a portion of the street.

The woman’s identity and the extent of her injuries are unknown.

Power lines are down after a car crashed into a pole in Englewood, according to dispatchers.

Englewood fire and police crews are on the scene after the crash was reported in the 600 block of South Main Street around 6:10 a.m. Saturday morning.

Initial reports indicate the pole with transformers is down with power lines stretching across the street.

Our reporter at the scene says the northbound lane of traffic is closed from Lienesch Drive to Taywood Road.

Dispatchers said this was a single-car crash with the driver being the only person in the car at the time of the collision.

The condition of the driver and the circumstances leading to the crash are unknown at this time.
