The Storm Prediction Center has issued an “enhanced risk” report for a portion of the Miami Valley that would indicate strong to severe storms are possible late tonight into the overnight hours.

RELATED: Severe Weather: Slight vs. Enhanced Risk

  • Tornado watch continues through 7 a.m.
  • Storms through early morning commute
  • Reduced visibility and ponding on the roads
  • Gusty wind and cooler this afternoon

TODAY: A wind advisory will continue across the Miami Valley until 1am Thursday as wind gust will peek close to 50mph at time. Temperatures will be falling back through the day until eventually dipping into the lower 30s by tomorrow morning. Winds relax by then, but a light breeze will result in wind chills in the upper teens to low 20s. There will be enough of a breeze during this time frame to help dry the roads and keep from any slick spots developing for the morning drive. As the colder air rushes in during the day, a few passing rain showers will develop then change to light flurries later tonight before ending.

THURSDAY: Lots of clouds through the day and colder, but seasonal with highs in the lower 40s. A quick moving clipper will bring in scattered rain to snow showers late Thursday into Thursday night. A light accumulation of snow in the northern Miami Valley would be possible. Snow totals less than an inch is to be expected and could lead to a few slick spots by Friday morning with temperatures dropping into the 20s.

FRIDAY: A cold start with a few leftover flurries will be possible early with some breaks in the clouds by afternoon. Drivers should watch for a few isolated slick spots during the morning drive, mainly on side streets. It will be chilly day with highs holding in the middle 30s.

SATURDAY: Dry weather is expected to start the weekend with partly cloudy skies and highs in the upper 40s.

SUNDAY: Expect a mix of sun and clouds along with warmer temperatures on Sunday. Highs should rebound back into the upper 50s.
