Voting for president could mean winning free furniture

Voting for president of the United States on Nov. 8 could mean free furniture for your home.

If 69 percent of Ohio's eligible voters vote for president of the United States, your purchase at Morris Home Furnishings, Ashley HomeStore and The Better Sleep Shop showrooms throughout Dayton, Cincinnati, Columbus and Northern Kentucky could be free.

“With the biggest election in years approaching, no matter which candidate you’re supporting, you can make your vote count with free furniture,” said Larry Klaben, president and CEO of Morris Furniture Company. “Your vote will count for electing the president of the United States, plus possibly win you something comfortable, beautiful and functional for your family.”

The special promotion is in honor of the company’s anniversary.

“We are celebrating our 69th anniversary in a big way,” Klaben said. “To encourage every eligible voter to exercise their right to vote, we have created an unprecedented offer that could reward our customers and create much excitement after Election Day.”

Customers who make a minimum purchase of $1,499 on furniture, mattresses and accessories before 9 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 7, will get their purchase free if the Ohio Board of Elections reports that at least 6 million votes are cast for president in Ohio.

Robert Klaben, Morris Furniture Company vice president of advertising and marketing, said, “It’s exciting to encourage eligible voters to get out and vote. The State of Ohio is once again a key battleground state, with all eyes focused on how our citizens decide the future direction of our country. With just a few weeks left before the election, Ohio will be the center of attention for all candidates and news organizations.”

Two years ago, the company awarded more than $1.5 million in free furniture to lucky shoppers, thanks to an incredible national championship football game.

One Morris customer who received free furniture during the football promotion said, “I received free furniture a few years ago, and now I’m excited to have that opportunity again!”

Company officials really do want customers to win.

“We hope our customers receive $5 million in free furniture with this offer,” said Michael Carter, Morris Furniture Company vice president of sales. “We are encouraging our customers to tell their friends and family to vote for the future of our country, and get free furniture!”

Residents of Kentucky are not being left out. Kentucky voters also are eligible to participate at the Florence Morris Home Furnishings and Ashley HomeStore showrooms.

“While they will cast their votes in Kentucky, the promotion results will be based on voter turnout results in Ohio,” said Morris Furniture Company Director of Advertising, Beth Korab.
