Vehicle slams into Darke Co. home in chain-reaction crash; 2 teens, 1 adult injured

Three people, including two teenagers, were injured in a two-vehicle crash that sent one into a house Sunday afternoon in Darke County.

Deputies and medics were dispatched around 6:20 p.m. Sunday to the intersection of Red River West Grove and Delisle Fourman roads on a reported serious injury crash.

In a media release, deputies said an initial investigation found a 2001 Chevy Malibu was traveling south on Red River West Grove Road, ran a stop sign, and was hit by a 2017 Honda Accord traveling on Delisle Fourman Road. The crash caused the Malibu to crash into the corner of a house on the southwest corner of the intersection.

The Malibu’s driver, identified as 16-year-old Luke Medve, of Arcanum, was transported to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight and is listed in fair condition.

The driver of the Accord, identified as 54-year-old Debra Miller of Troy, and the front-seat passenger, identified as 15-year-old Madison Mankin of Arcanum, were transported to Wayne HealthCare in Greenville for possible injuries.

The third passenger in the Accord was treated and released at the scene.

Deputies said no one in the home was injured and the structure did not sustain any structural damage.
