N. Main St. reopens after vehicle slams into pole

UPDATE @ 4:45 a.m. (Feb. 22):

Dispatchers said all lanes in the 5600 block of North Main Street reopened around 3:30 a.m.

UPDATE @ 10:45 p.m. (Feb 21):

The DP&L crew will have to replace the pole damaged in the vehicle crash, which means a section of North Main Street in the 5600 block will remain closed for some time.

FIRST REPORT

A section of North Main Street in Harrison Twp. has been shut down after a vehicle struck a utility pole in the 5600 block.

Montgomery County sheriff's deputies and a medic unit were sent to that area about 8:40 p.m. on the report of an injury crash.

Deputies at the scene would not say whether the driver has been injured or whether their preliminary investigation points toward a cause of the crash.

A Dayton Power & Light crew is on scene to deal with the pole, which has been left leaning. No power outages have been reported.

The DP&L crew on scene means that section of North Main, in the area of Carson Avenue and Philadelphia Drive, is closed.

We will update this report when more information becomes available.
