Two shot near Springfield hotel, police searching for suspect

Two people were shot Sunday morning near a Springfield hotel on East Leffel Lane Sunday morning, according to dispatchers. 

Police are conducting an investigation near the Quality Inn and Conference Center as they continue the search for a suspect. 

Initial reports indicate one of the two victims was taken by CareFlight to an unknown hospital.

The severity of both victims' injuries is unknown, according to dispatchers. 

Dispatchers said no roads in the area of East Leffel Lane are closed as a result of the investigation.


At least one man has been shot in Springfield as police search for a suspect Sunday morning, according to Springfield dispatchers. 

Police were dispatched to the Quality Inn and Conference Center in the 300 block of East Leffel Lane around 4:16 a.m. 

Initial reports indicate two gunshot victims were found near the hotel, with dispatchers confirming at least one victim was found and taken to the hospital.

Some businesses along Executive Boulevard have been evacuated after a gas leak in Huber Heights, according to crews on the scene.

Fire crews and police continue to block both directions of Executive Boulevard, east of Old Troy Pike, where the construction crew struck the gas line.

Executive Boulevard is blocked in both directions in Huber Heights after a construction crew struck a gas line Thursday morning. 

Vectren crews have been requested to the scene to isolate the leak, according to initial reports. 

Dispatchers said there have been no reports of evacuations in the area.
