UPDATE @ 11 p.m. (March 10)

A felony theft charge filed against a Troy woman in a complaint involving Girl Scouts cookies was dismissed Thursday in Miami County Municipal Court.

Lisa Pawlaczyk, 43, was accused of failing to return cookies or money associated with them following the 2016 scouts' cookie sales campaign. A representative of the Girl Scouts of Western Ohio told Troy police in February that Pawlaczyk was contacted by email and certified letter about returning 25 cases of cookies and $1,501 allegedly owed but had failed to respond to the organization.

The court file stated the charge was dismissed following payment of $1,501 to the Girl Scouts of Western Ohio in Dayton and the return of more than 25 cases of cookies.

FIRST REPORT (Feb. 23)

A Troy woman accused of not returning 25 cases of Girl Scouts cookies or the $1,501 owed pleaded not guilty Tuesday to a felony theft charge.

Lisa Pawlaczyk, 43, was released on her own recognizance after her appearance in Miami County Municipal Court.

A representative of the Girl Scouts of Western Ohio reported earlier this month that Pawlaczyk, a volunteer, allegedly failed to return the cookies or the money associated with them following the early 2016 cookie sales campaign, according to a Troy police report. The local Girl Scouts representative said Pawlaczyk was contacted by email and certified mail about returning the cookies or turning in the money but no response was received, the report stated.

Lisa Pawlaczyk has a preliminary hearing scheduled for next Tuesday, Feb. 28, in Miami Municipal Court.
