The charges in the case were filed in Vandalia Municipal Court Thursday and a warrant was issued for Dixon.

A court date for Dixon’s arraignment has not yet been announced, according to records.

INITIAL REPORT:

DAYTON -- Police descended upon a house in the 400 block of North Orchard Avenue about 5:30 p.m. to make an arrest in a 2016 Harrison Twp. homicide.

Deandre Dixon, 26, was taken into custody and booked into the Montgomery County Jail, Dayton Sgt. John Riegel said.

This is the second time Dixon has been arrested in connection with the Dec. 2 shooting death of 42-year-old Gregory Moses, of Harrison Twp.

Riegel declined to say what led police and homicide detectives to the Dayton address.

Dixon was arrested and later released in connection with the slaying of Moses, who was found shot to death at an apartment in the 3700 block of Haney Road.

According to the 9-1-1 call, a friend who had gone to the residence for a planned night out found Moses' body. The friend told the dispatcher that Moses was just inside the doorway. There was a bullet hole in the screen door.

Detectives later identified Dixon as a potential suspect. He was taken into custody Dec. 3 in the area of North Woodward Avenue and North James H. McGee Boulevard.

Dixon was booked into Montgomery County Jail on suspicion of aggravated murder and a weapons violation.

Dixon was released from jail initially after prosecutors declined to approve charges against him after his first arrest in December and asked for detectives to investigate further.
