Police: Armed robber grabs items, cash from Shell station in Springfield

UPDATE @ 6:30 p.m.: The armed robber who hit the Shell station in a man believed to be in his 20s who grabbed miscellaneous items and some cash, Springfield police said.

The business has since reopened.

Police are reviewing surveillance video as part of their investigation.

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a Shell gas station in the 1500 block of West North Street in Springfield.

The robber, who was wearing a mask, brandished a handgun before leaving on foot, police tell us. The robbery was reported just before 4:30 p.m.

The business, at the corner of Zischler Street, is closed, police tell us. No injuries have been reported.
