Brookville man dies in Friday night I-75 crash

A Brookville man is dead following a four-car crash that closed I-75 in both directions in Auglaize County Friday night.

Dylan Puckett, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol's Wapakoneta Post.

Four other people were taken from the scene of the crash to hospitals with non-life threatening injures.

Troopers said the crash was caused when the northbound car driven by Puckett crossed the median of the highway for an unknown reason and struck an SUV in the southbound lane.

After crashing into the SUV, Puckett's car hit a tractor trailer that then crashed into another SUV.

All four vehicles were heavily damaged in the crash, according to troopers, and a cause has yet to be determined.

Troopers said the crash remains under investigation.

One person was killed in a four-vehicle crash Friday night that shut down Interstate 75 in both directions in Auglaize County near the Shelby County line, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Wapakoneta Post.

There was no information on any other injuries reported in the crash, and the highway patrol was expected to release more information.

An injury crash involved four vehicles tonight near the border between Auglaize and Shelby counties. The crash is under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened in Auglaize County, just past the Shelby County border, which is why initial reports from the scene said it happened near Botkins in Shelby County.

Troopers from the highway patrol’s Wapakoneta and Piqua posts are on scene.

The Piqua Post confirmed there were injuries, but would not give further information about the number or severity of injuries of the crash near the Auglaize and Shelby

There were possibly four vehicles involved in a multiple-vehicle crash tonight that led to the shutdown of all lanes of Interstate 75 in both directions near Botkins in Shelby County, according to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.

We are working to find out how many people were hurt and what caused this crash.

All lanes in both directions of Interstate 75 near Botkins are shut down tonight for a multi-vehicle crash with injuries.

The crash was reported sometime around 9:15 p.m. near the 105 mile marker, according to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.

Additional medics have been requested, but there is no word on the number of people injured or the severity of injuries.
