Man with nationwide warrant arrested after police pursuit ends in Greenville

UPDATE @ 8:01 a.m.:

The man who led police on a pursuit that started around 1:20 a.m. after a traffic stop has been identified.

Cody Ray, 27, of Kenton had a nationwide warrant for his arrest out of Union County, Ohio and led police on a chase that started in Rossburg and ended in Greenville, according to Sgt. Scott Mullen of Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

Ray was arrested after he fled on foot to a Greenville home.

According to Sgt. Mullen, Ray was taken to the Darke County Jail and will be held on local charges before being released to Union County.

UPDATE @ 4:47 a.m.:

A police pursuit ended in a basement of a residence in Greenville.

A man driving a truck was detained after sending police on a long pursuit that started at Medford Road and Mangen Road in Rossburg for a minor traffic violation Saturday, according to Sgt. Scott Mullen of the Darke County Sheriffs Office.

According to Mullen, police found fictitious information about the truck and learned the driver had nationwide warrants.

The driver refused to exit his vehicle when told by police, then drove away.

Ohio State Patrol used Stop Sticks that caused the truck to lose its tires, Mullen said.

The suspect involved then fled by foot to a residence in Greenville.

A K9 unit from Lewisburg was used to assist in the chase.

Darke County Police, Versailles Police Department, OSP, and Greenville Police Department worked on the pursuit.

The police pursuit in Greenville has now ended, according to Darke County dispatch.

Dispatch confirmed that the pursuit ended on the 100 block of Sweitzer Street.

It is not known what started the pursuit.

No one was injured.

A vehicle pursuit is reported to be occurring in Darke County.

Darke County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that there is a pursuit.
