Power, RTA lines down, Dayton road closed following crash

UPDATE @ 7:10 a.m.

A power line and main RTA line are damaged following a crash in the 3000 block of Hoover Avenue in Dayton.

Our crew at the scene reports a car is on its side and Hoover Avenue is closed between Westwood and Huron Avenues.

Initial reports indicate a person was unconscious at the scene of the single-car crash when crews arrived shortly after 5:30 a.m.

A dog has been removed from the car alive, according to our crew, while DP&L and RTA crews assist at the scene.

FIRST REPORT (March 26)

A car is reportedly on its side after crashing in Dayton Sunday morning.

Crews were dispatched to the intersection of Hoover and Brooklyn Avenues around 5:29 a.m. on a report of a crash.

Initial reports indicate the single-car crash has closed a small portion of Hoover Avenue and left power lines down.

A person has been reported unconscious at the scene, according to scanner traffic.
