Police, medics requested to Xenia for incident involving dog

UPDATE @8:09 a.m.

Police said a dog was severely injured in an incident in Xenia Friday morning.

The dog was injured to the point where it’s still making noise, but not moving, police said.

Two people inside the house are not cooperating with police. Initial reports indicated the dog had been killed.

Animal Control is on scene and will be taking over the investigation.

Police and medics are responding to a Xenia home after a dog was apparently shot and killed.

Officers responded to the 450 block of E. Third Street around 6:40 a.m. after it was reported a family dog had been killed. Once on scene, police asked for medics for dog bites.
