Police investigate 2 Salem Ave. cell phone store break-ins

DAYTON — Dayton and Trotwood officers are investigating two separate break-ins at cell phone stores on Salem Avenue Tuesday morning.

Dayton police were first dispatched to Best Wireless at 2808 Salem Avenue around 2:20 a.m. after receiving an alarm from the business.

Initial reports indicate officers found broken glass at the business but it was not clear if anything was taken or if anyone made it inside.

Around 3:15 a.m., Trotwood police responded to Venus Wireless at 4787 Salem Avenue, after the store’s alarm was triggered.

Our crew on scene reported a front window was broken and rocks were down in front of the store. It appears the burglaries used a towel to walk over the broken glass.

It was also unknown if investigators believe the two incidents are connected.
