UPDATE @ 10:04 p.m.: The male in police custody is not the gunman who robbed the Family Dollar, police said.
The store manager, after viewing surveillance video, could not identify the male police detained as the person who robbed the store earlier tonight.
INITIAL REPORT
Police are investigating an armed robbery at the Family Dollar, 1028 N. Gettysburg Ave., during which the invader fired at least one round into the ceiling while in the store.

No one was hit by the gunfire in the incident reported just after 9 p.m., Dayton police said. The robber is said to have run into the woods behind the store.
He wore a mask, black hoodie and gray sweatpants, according to an early description put out to officers via Montgomery County Regional Dispatch.
Police have returned to the scene with a male in custody, in the back of a police cruiser. They are waiting for the store manager to view surveillance video to verify whether the male is the suspected robber.
The North Gettysburg location has been targeted by robbers recently:
- Jan. 27: Two teenagers, both armed with 9 mm pistols, made off with less than $100
- May 10: One person taken into custody, police searched an area in Jefferson Twp. for second suspect
- Nov. 20, 2016: One person robbed the store
