— As we prepare for another snow storm on this first day of spring, you may be asking yourself, how common (or not) is snow in spring?
We posed the question to Stormcenter 7 Meteorologist Kirstie Zontini.
“It’s not uncommon,” said Zontini. If you’ve lived in Ohio for awhile, you probaby already guessed that.
What’s the saying? Don’t like the weather in Ohio? Just wait, it will change in a minute.
Stormcenter 7 Meteorologist Kirstie Zontini dug through National Weather Service data for our area and here’s what she found:
THE AVERAGE LATEST 1-INCH SNOW IN DAYTON AREA
THE LATEST MORE THAN 1-INCH SNOW IN DAYTON AREA
THE MOST SNOW IN MARCH IN DAYTON AREA
We are not expected that much this week. The Stormcenter 7 team is forecasting 3-5 inches of snow across most of the Dayton region. Some isolated spots could see bands of snow that leave closer to 6 inches.
Will it be the last snow fall of the season? Ohio weather history shows, don’t count on it.
