Dayton man dies after struck by work van Friday morning

DAYTON — UPDATE @ 6 p.m. (Oct. 14)

A pedestrian, identified as 29-year-old Mark A. Washington of Dayton, died this afternoon at Miami Valley Hospital, his sister Donya Washington reported.

The hospital and Montgomery County Coroner’s Office confirmed his death.

Mark Washington was struck by a work van around 6 a.m. Friday in the area of South Keowee and East First streets in Dayton.

UPDATE @ 10:55 a.m. 

A pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle in the area of South Keowee Street and East First Street in Dayton is listed in critical condition, according to a Dayton police spokeswoman.

Detectives said the crash is in the early stages of the investigation and additional details were not available.

A pedestrian has reportedly been struck by a work van on Keowee Street near First Street.

The accident was reported around 6 a.m. Southbound Keowee is shut down while crews investigate the crash.
