OAKWOOD — Injured Kettering wrestling star Ahmad Doucet, now a senior at Fairmont High School, was in Oakwood Thursday to meet his new furry friend.
Members of the Oakwood High School student group Pups for People raised money to provide the labradoodle, part Labrador retriever and part poodle, to serve as Doucet’s emotional support dog.

The group’s founders set out to raise money to provide a service dog for fellow OHS student Ally Moran. They met their goal, and Moran and her dog Cooper are now in training.

This year, the student group decided to help Doucet, now a senior, who suffered a stroke in 2015 during a wrestling practice. This led to Locked-In Syndrome, which means he has no motor function except for his eyes.

Doucet and his family have not chosen a name yet for their dog.
