3 injured in rear-end crash near Spring Valley

SPRING VALLEY TWP., Greene County — UPDATE @ 12:15 p.m. 

Three people were injured after an SUV rear-ended a work truck on U.S. 42 near Ohio 725 in Spring Valley Twp. Monday morning.

Two occupants of the work truck were transported to Miami Valley South, while the driver of the SUV was taken to Greene Memorial Hospital. The conditions of all three were not immediately known by investigators.

Factors in the crash remain under investigation, but drugs and alcohol impairment are not expected to be factors.

The SUV driver will face a citation for the crash.

At least three people have been injured in a crash south of Spring Valley on U.S. 42 Monday morning.

Crews responded to the intersection of U.S. 42 and Ohio 725 in Spring Valley Twp. around 10:50 a.m. on initial reports of a crash involving a utility truck.

The conditions of those injured in the crash were not immediately available.

Multiple surrounding fire departments have sent crews to the scene, according to initial reports.
