Minor injury reported after fire engine, car collide in Xenia

UPDATE @ 4:07 p.m.

No serious injuries are reported after a car and Xenia fire engine collided in Xenia Saturday morning, according to Sgt. Scott Beegle.

Crews were dispatched to the intersection of West Second Street and South Progress Drive around 12:25 p.m.

Beegle said crews are still investigating and working to determine who was at fault in the crash.

One of the three people in the crashed car was taken to Miami Valley Hospital with minor injuries, according to Beegle.

He said two people in the fire engine were uninjured. Beegle said the engine sustained major front-end damage and will be out of service for an indefinite time.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, according to Beegle.

Police and medics are responding to the scene of an injury crash involving a fire response vehicle Saturday morning.

Crews were dispatched to the intersection of West Second Street and Progress Drive around 12:25 p.m.

Initial reports indicate a medic has been called to the scene for an injured patient.

Dispatchers could not confirm if the injured person was in the fire response vehicle.

Traffic in the area is currently being rerouted, according to dispatchers.
