Man suffers serious injuries in Clark Co. motorcycle crash

State troopers said a 23-year-old Yellow Springs man suffered serious injuries in a motorcycle crash in Clark County Thursday night.

According to a release, troopers and medics were dispatched to the 6000 South Tecumseh Road in Mad River Township around 9:35 p.m. Thursday on a reported serious motorcycle crash.

Troopers said an initial investigation found the motorcycle, traveling north on South Tecumseh Road, drove off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole and mailbox.

The operator, identified as 23-year-old Justin Riley, of Yellow Springs, was ejected during the crash. Riley was transported by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital and is listed in serious condition.

Troopers said Riley was wearing a helmet and protective clothing at the time of the crash.

Troopers did not release what factors might have led to the crash, and the incident remains under investigation by the Springfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

A motorcyclist was seriously injured tonight in a Clark County crash.

CareFlight responded for the motorcyclist injured around 9:40 p.m. in the 6200 block of Tecumseh Road in Mad River Twp. The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Springfield Post is investigating the crash.

According to initial reports, the motorcyclist may have struck a utility pole. No other vehicles were believed to be involved.
