Man critically wounded in shooting; claims robbed of chicken

A 48-year-old man is in critical condition after he was shot in the arm and chest Wednesday morning.

The man showed up at Good Samaritan Hospital around 12:45 a.m. and was transferred to Miami Valley Hospital due to the severity of his injuries, according to a Dayton police report.

WHERE IS NEWS HAPPENING IN THE MIAMI VALLEY?

According to the report, the man told a hospital security officer he was robbed of his chicken in the area of Fountain and Delaware avenues, however police were only able to find a blood trail that led from the hospital to the 1300 block of West Fairview Avenue.

Dayton police have not been able to talk to the victim due to his condition, the report said.

Police are continuing to gather more information on this case and no suspect information has been released.
