High winds lead to downed trees, poles

DAYTON — High winds are believed to be responsible for downed poles and trees Thursday morning.

In Spring Valley, a downed tree was reported on Spring Valley Paintersville Road between U.S. 42 and State Route 380. The road was reportedly blocked.

In Dayton, a power pole and wires came down in the 100 block of Westwood Avenue around 1 a.m. About 40 houses lost power.

A wind advisory was in effect when the pole came down.

In Clayton, a tree fell onto a shed in the area of Cheryl Court and Thelma Avenue, leading to about 50 outages.

No word on when power will be restored. We will continue to monitor.
