New Lebanon man killed in Preble Co. motorcycle crash

UPDATE @ 7:20 a.m. (March 27) 

State troopers have identified the victim of a fatal motorcycle crash on March 25 as 22-year-old Blake A. Daniel of New Lebanon.

Troopers said an initial investigation found Blake was traveling north on Ohio 726 when his motorcycle went off the left side of the road, hit a culvert, and a utility box.

Blake was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Alcohol and excessive speed are not believed to be factors in the crash.

FIRST REPORT (March 25)

At least one person was killed Saturday night in a motorcycle crash in Preble County.

The crash was reported around 10:15 p.m. in the 3500 block of Ohio 726, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Dayton Post.

The motorcycle was the only vehicle involved in the crash in Monroe Twp., and it was not clear whether there were any other victims.

The name, age, gender and hometown of the fatality was not immediately available.

The crash remains under investigation.
