2 Jeeps collide, one overturns at Sugarcreek Twp. shopping plaza

SUGARCREEK TWP. — A black Jeep Wrangler rolled onto its side Saturday night in a crash with another Jeep.

Crews were called around 8 p.m. to a two-vehicle crash with a person trapped in the black Jeep that rolled over in the parking lot to Staples, 6254 Wilmington Pike, in the Sugarcreek Plaza II.

Sgt. Mike White of the Sugarcreek Twp. Police Department said the Wrangler with two people inside was headed east on Center Point Drive and a red Jeep was headed south on Service Drive.

The driver of the red Jeep, who was the only occupant, ran a stop sign at the time of the crash, White said.

Neither driver was hurt, but the passenger in the Wrangler, who was trapped for about 10 minutes, was taken to Miami Valley Hospital South with injuries that did not appear to be serious, the sergeant said.

He said the driver of the red Jeep would be cited for failure to yield. Drugs, alcohol and the driver’s speed are not factors.

"It appears to be driver inattention," White said.
