Independence Day celebrations and parades are already underway across the Miami Valley this morning.

Centerville-Washington Township Americana Festival
Festivities started at 7:30 a.m. with a 5K run, with the annual parade scheduled to start at 10 a.m. The rest of the day features a street fair from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. with hundreds of booths ranging from arts and crafts to food, treats and games and ends with fireworks at 10 p.m.

City of Fairborn Independence Day Parade
Starting at 10 a.m., over 170 units will participate in one of the largest Fourth of July parades in the region. This year, 94-year-old Pearl Harbor survivor Ed Malen and United States Air Force retiree Chuck Knaub will serve as co-grand marshals for the parade.

Red White and Boonshoft
An indoor event for those looking to stay out of the heat today. The annual star-spangled science celebration features educational shows, entertainment, indoor fireworks in the planetarium, face painting, food vendors and more.
