Carlos Gomez, 23, now of Baldwin Park, Calif., told visiting Judge William Wolff Jr. on Tuesday he was "deeply sorry for the wrong I have committed."
Tipp City police said the robbery was planned by Benjamin Danon, 28, of Tipp City. He was convicted of aggravated robbery and sentenced to six years in prison in June. Witnesses to the robbery said Danon was armed with a gun during the robbery, though he continued to deny having a weapon.
Gomez pleaded as part of a deal in which the aggravated robbery charge was changed to felony robbery. He could have received up to three years in prison.
Wolff sentenced Gomez to six months in jail before suspending all but 116 days and crediting Gomez with 116 days served. The judge said his suggestion was for Gomez to return to California to live with family, including a sister who attended the sentencing.
Gomez also was ordered to have no contact with the victims and his co-defendants.
Also pleading and sentenced in the case were Cody Allwood, 22, and Madelyn Johnson, 19, both of Tipp City. They were sentenced to community control.
