Fairborn hotel employee accused in stabbing following birthday party

FAIRBORN — UPDATE @ 1:57 p.m. (March 29):

The hotel employee from the Fairborn Hotel accused of stabbing someone following a birthday party at the location appeared in court for his initial appearance Tuesday.

Jorge Ramirez, 34, is charged with a single count of felonious assault and his bond was set at $100,000, according to court records.

Ramirez remained in jail Wednesday afternoon.

According to the police incident report, the suspect is an employee of the Fairborn Hotel and the stabbing was precipitated by an argument regarding a security deposit following a birthday party.

The alleged victim and the suspect argued about the return of a security deposit following a birthday party at the motel, according to the report. A witness told police after the party, the group was told their deposit wouldn't be returned because "they did not clean the party properly," according to the incident report. That's when an argument began.

The alleged victim was chased by the suspect holding a knife, and was stabbed in the leg after he fell, according to the incident report.

A pocket knife was located in a bush nearby.

FIRST REPORT

Police have arrested a suspect following a stabbing in the parking lot of the Fairborn Motel on Sunday morning.

Jorge P. Ramirez, 34, is being held in the Greene County Jail on suspicion of felonious assault.

Police said they responded to the area of 800 North Broad Street shortly before 2 a.m. for a report of a disturbance involving numerous people.

Once officers arrived on the scene they found a victim had been stabbed and was treated for injuries not believed to be life threatening, police said.

Officers received suspect information and were able to locate Ramirez who had left the scene on foot.
