Elderly woman identified in fatal Huber Heights crash

The woman who died has been identified as Hazel Fraley, 82, of Kettering. Her cause of death is natural and she did not die as a result of the crash, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

UPDATE @ 11:40 p.m. (July 12)

The fatality is an 82-year-old woman, a Montgomery County coroner’s investigator said. He also said he is not able to release her name just yet, pending notification of the woman’s relatives.

UPDATE @ 9:00 p.m.: One person is dead from the two-vehicle accident on Old Troy Pike near Powell Road, Huber Heights police Sgt. David Garlow said.

The fatality, believed to be an adult female, had been taken to Miami Valley Hospital.

The injury count now is four, he said, as three others from the accident have been taken to hospitals. Huber Heights fire officials believed initially that only two of the four people had been taken to hospitals.

Garlow said he’s not sure of the fatality’s age or how a wheelchair left at the scene factors into the accident.

FIRST REPORT

One person has suffered life-threatening injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Old Troy Pike, just south of Powell Road, in Huber Heights.

One other person suffered serious injuries and two more people escaped injury, a Huber Heights fire official said.

The most seriously injured victim, identified only as a female, has been taken to Miami Valley Hospital. The other injured victim has been taken to a hospital in Huber Heights.

The accident was reported about 7:45 p.m. We’re still working to learn details about how the accident may have occurred.

A Huber Heights police traffic reconstruction team is on scene.

The southbound lanes of Old Troy Pike are closed for the investigation. One northbound lanes remain open.
