UPDATE @ 11:22 a.m.

Police in Eaton had good reason to keep students aboard buses this morning at East and Bruce elementaries. The suspect who ran from an officer was found hiding in a dumpster on school grounds, according to Eaton Police Chief Chad DePew.

The suspect, 32-year-old Eric Lewis, formerly of Eaton, was wanted for a probation violation. Now he may be facing additional charges as he is being booked into the Preble County Jail.

Children who attend the two elementary schools on Aukerman Street were kept on their buses before being allowed to enter the school.

Police searched the buildings and determined the suspect was not inside. DePew said officers found Lewis hiding in a dumpster during a search of the outside grounds.
