Driver injured in Greenville crash

UPDATE @7:05 a.m.

The person injured in a Darke County crash Monday evening has been identified.

Cathy Swafford, 49, of Greenville, was eastbound on Ohio 502. She swerved to miss an object in the road, over-corrected and lost control.

The vehicle went off the right side of the road, struck a concrete culvert and overturned.

Swafford was taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital, where her condition is unknown at this time.

FIRST REPORT

A medical helicopter has taken one person to the hospital after a car hit a pole and flipped in Darke County Monday night.

Darke County deputies and a Liberty Twp. rescue unit were sent to the scene in the 2400 block of Ohio 502 around 10 p.m.

Only one person is believed to have been in the car at the time of the crash, according to Darke County dispatchers.

The extent of the victim's injuries are unknown at this time, but initial reports indicate the driver was ejected from the car.
