DAYTON — UPDATE @ 3:37 p.m. (Oct. 5)
Dayton police have not yet apprehended a shooter in an incident that has left a Dayton teenager with a critical gunshot wound to the head.
Dayton police did locate a person of interest who was fleeing the scene. Officers arrested 20-year-old Sean Walker in the area of Fourth Street and Wayne Avenue for carrying a concealed weapon.
But police told us Thursday afternoon that they do not believe he is the teen's attacker.
They're still searching for the shooter.
The 17-year-old male victim is fighting for his life this afternoon after the incident near the downtown RTA Hub.
A teenager is in critical condition after being shot in the head in downtown Dayton Wednesday evening.
Police officers chased down a 20-year-old person of interest after a sergeant, in a cruiser across from the RTA hub on Main Street, heard a gunshot and was flagged down by a citizen around 9:50 p.m. The sergeant located the victim in the area of Fourth and Jefferson streets and saw the 20-year-old, running, Dayton Lt. Steven Bauer said.
The 20-year-old was apprehended in the area of East Fourth Street and Wayne Avenue, approximately three to four blocks east of where a 17-year-old male was shot at least once.

The victim was said to be in critical condition at Miami Valley Hospital early Thursday morning.
Bauer said police have no idea what led to the shooting and are investigating whether there is a second person involved in the shooting.
Police also have recovered one of the weapons believed to have been used in the incident, the lieutenant said.
Homicide detectives were on scene.
