House fire on Tyson Ave. in Dayton being investigated as accidental

UPDATE @ 10:04 p.m.: The house fire on Tyson Avenue is believed to have started in the attic and is being investigated as accidental, a Dayton fire district chief said.

The two male occupants have been displaced and the Red Cross has been called to assist them. There are no reports of any injuries.

According to the district chief, the occupants are not cooperating with the fire investigator.

The chief estimated the damage to the structure and contents at $10,000.

FIRST REPORT

An investigation is underway into the cause of a fire that damaged a residence in the 600 block of Tyson Avenue in Dayton.

Crews were dispatched about 8:47 p.m. on a report of a working fire, with heavy smoke coming from the one-story single-family dwelling.
