Red Cross assisting family displaced by house fire

The American Red Cross is helping two adults that escaped a house fire in Trotwood early Monday.

The fire was reported around 2:45 a.m. Monday in the 3800 block of Myron Avenue.

Flames were showing from the rear of the house when fire crews arrived, and it took about 15 minutes to knock down the fire, officials said. The fire started in and around the dryer.

The blaze caused about $10,000 worth of damage. There were no audible smoke detectors.
