Sgt. Jeff Kramer said troopers did recover things from the man’s vehicle that concerned them. However, he stopped short of saying the incident was suicide.

Troopers said Gregory parked his vehicle on the side of the road at the end of the bridge over Ohio 725 around 12:30 p.m.

Witnesses told troopers they saw the victim run out in front of the box truck that struck him.

A 911 caller told dispatchers he saw a man pull over on the highway, exit his vehicle and run into the path of a box truck.

“He pulled over along the road at a bridge and just ran out in front of a box truck,” the caller told dispatchers.

Southbound I-75 at the Ohio 725 exit was shut down for a couple of hours.
