Centerville students make Disney dreams come true for boy, 6, with cancer

CENTERVILLE — Students at Magsig Middle School are making a 6-year-old boy’s wish come true to visit Disney World.

The Centerville students raised more than $8,000 for Aiden and his family to make the trip through Make-A-Wish Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. Aiden suffers from neoblastoma, a form of childhood cancer. This summer will be his first vacation, and first trip on an airplane.

“It’s breathtaking just to see everything that they did and not knowing who Aiden was, just the initiative to help someone out, it’s really good,” Aiden’s father Matt Young said.

The fundraising efforts were led by Magsig’s lacrosse players, Student Council and Junior Optimist Club and supported by students, staff and community members, Magsig Principal Stacey Westendorf said.

The school is still accepting donations for the family.
