Centerville man shares his Hurricane Irma experience

A Centerville man who was trapped in St. Thomas during Hurricane Irma shared his experience with News Center 7’s Sean Cudahy.

Mike Moore said he and his fiancee were on vacation staying at the one of the St. Thomas Marriott hotels when they learned  Hurricane Irma would directly hit them. Moore tried to secure airfare out of the hurricane’s path but was unsuccessful.

Moore and his fiancee were then moved to an inland hotel and forced to wait out Irma. He reported living a couple of days in a room with three feet of water and terrible odors.

Moore applauded the Marriott though for securing one of the only boats to Puerto Rico where they were able to secure flights back home.
