Burglars make off with alcohol, cash after liquor store break-in

DAYTON — Two burglars were able to get away with a cash drawer and a bottle of alcohol after breaking into the Smith’s Liquor store in Dayton Thanksgiving morning.

Officers responded to the store at 1024 South Smithville Road around 2:30 a.m. after receiving a call that the store’s front window was broken.

Police reviewed surveillance video and found two men broke the window, grabbed a cash drawer and a bottle of alcohol, before fleeing the store on foot, according to a Dayton police incident report.

Officers believe the suspects were only in the store for about a minute.

No arrests have been made.
