Dayton Police release results for 2 OVI checkpoints Friday night

UPDATE: @ 1:32 a.m.

1 person was arrested for OVI at the checkpoint at North Main Street Friday evening.

A total of 467 vehicles passed through the checkpoint. 4 were cited for driving under suspension, 1 for child restraint citation, and 1 driving with fictitious plates. 1 warrant was served for failure to pay child support.

No OVI arrests were made at the second checkpoint at North Dixie Drive that same night.

A total of 207 vehicles passed through the checkpoint and 1 was cited for driving under suspension.

Saturation patrols resulted in 2 citations for disobeying traffic control devices and 1 warrant arrest for theft.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Combined Agency OVI Task Force will be conducting two OVI sobriety checkpoints in Harrison Township.

Checkpoints will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. tonight in the 4600 block of North Main Street and the 5900 block of North Dixie Drive.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office encourages everyone to designate a driver, make certain everyone in your vehicle is wearing a seat belt and that kids are in child safety or booster seats. Stay alert and do not drive distracted or while texting.

If you observe an impaired driver, the sheriff’s office asks that you call your local law enforcement agency to report it and have a safe, happy holiday weekend.
