UPDATE @ 11 p.m. (Aug. 28):

Strong storms that moved through the area have knocked out power, flooded several streets and prompted weather warnings from the National Weather Service.

A Flash Flood Warning is in effect until 11:45 p.m. for Greene, Warren and Clinton counties, issued by the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Storms are weakening and tapering off. However, some ponding on roadways from water runoff remains a concern, Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Brett Collar said. Temperatures overnight will fall to near 70 degrees early Monday.

Monday: Another hot and humid day is expected. Highs will be in the upper 80s, with heat index values in the middle 90s. The chance for rain continues, but again it looks like most of us should be dry.

Tuesday: Partly to mostly sunny skies are expected with highs in the upper 80s.

Wednesday: A few showers are possible, maybe a thunderstorm or two as a cold front moves through. Highs will be in the middle 80s.

Thursday: A few lingering clouds are expected early, then more sunshine in the afternoon. Highs will be in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees.

Friday: A pleasant day is expected. Highs will be in the upper 70s with mostly sunny skies.
