Drone races filmed in Hamilton to air on ESPN

HAMILTON — Races filmed last month in Hamilton by The Drone Racing League are scheduled to air in November on ESPN and ESPN2.

As reported in June in the Journal-News, nearly three-dozen racers were invited to fly their miniature electronic drones faster than 80 mph inside the abandoned Champion Paper Mill and navigate through a course that included a crashed UFO.

Hamilton was one stop on the road to The Drone Racing League’s world championships. Other sites involved with the league’s championships were the Miami Dolphins’ Sun Life Stadium, the abandoned Hawthorn Mall in Los Angeles and a former power station in Yonkers, N.Y.
