Wilmington police ID person of interest in Wilmington bank robbery

Police have identified a person of interest in the Tuesday morning robbery of the First Financial Bank in Wilmington.

Wilmington police Chief Detective Josh Riley said police know the robber is a local man in his 30s who wore a bandana over his face when he walked into the branch, 647 Fife Ave., and demanded money from a teller just before 9:30 a.m.

The robber did make off with an undetermined amount of cash, Riley said. There was no indication he was armed. No one was injured.

The suspect was wearing denim jeans and a long sleeve jacket and was last seen on foot in an alley behind the bank. Riley declined to name the person of interest until an arrest is made.

If you know the suspect or have any information that would help in the investigation, you are asked to call Wilmington police at 382-3833.
