Teenager arrested for Speedway armed robbery

Beavercreek police have arrested a 16-year-old male in connection to an armed robbery at Speedway.

The suspect had made contact with a store clerk in the parking lot and ordered the clerk back into the store before demanding cash and cigars, according to police.

The suspect got away with about $300 and three boxes of cigarettes.

The 16-year-old boy, of Beavercreek, reportedly confessed to a detective that he committed the robbery, police said. The weapon used in the offense has been recovered.

The teenager is being held at the Greene County Juvenile Detention Center awaiting formal charges of aggravated robbery through the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office.

Beavercreek police are looking for a man who was able to get away with cash after holding up the Speedway on Indian Ripple Road.

Police said the man entered the store around 3:25 a.m. Sunday and demanded cash. A weapon was not fully displayed, but police said the robber showed the bottom handle of a handgun that was concealed inside his clothing.

The man is described as a white male in his 20s, wearing all black, and a black mask. He was last seen leaving the store on foot, but a K9 track was unsuccessful.

Police believe the man was able to get away with around $200-250.

No customers were inside the store and no injuries were reported.

FIRST REPORT (May 8)

We’re following reports of an armed robbery at the Speedway on Indian Ripple Road in Beavercreek.

Officers were dispatched to the convenience store at 3991 Indian Ripple Road around 3:25 a.m. on reports of an armed person holding up the store.

Initial reports indicate the suspect displayed a gun and was wearing all black clothes and a mask when the robbery occurred.

A K9 officer has been requested to attempt to track the robber.

There have been no immediate reports of injuries.
