POLICE: Drunken American Airlines passenger banned from flight

DAYTON —  A drunk and disorderly 24-year-old passenger was banned from boarding his American Airlines flight at Dayton International Airport on Sunday, according to city police.

Sean Callahan is being held at the Montgomery County Jail on disorderly conduct and misconduct involving a public transportation system charges, according to online jail records.

Dayton police were dispatched around 4:59 p.m. to the airport located at 3600 Terminal Drive.  Officers responded to the American Airlines ticket counter on a report of an intoxicated man.

Callahan was slumped over in a seat when officers arrived, according to the police incident report.

Dayton officers detected the strong odor of urine when they approached Callahan, according to the police incident report.

“I also noted the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage about Mr. Callahan’s person,” wrote Dayton Police Officer Matthew Lykins in the police report.

When police asked Callahan if he had too much to drink, he yelled and used expletives, according to police.

Airline staff told police Callahan would be allowed to a flight the next day.
